Horse Chestnut Extract by Herb Pharm may work to support the optimal functioning of your cardiovascular system in several ways.

First‚ horse chestnut extract provides a compound known as aescin. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties‚ aescin may help address certain symptoms associated with swelling or inflammation of the blood vessel walls.

By working to support healthy circulation‚ horse chestnut extract may also work to alleviate some mild symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency‚ which occurs when your veins are unable to transport blood from the legs to the heart efficiently. Symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency can include leg cramps‚ swelling in the ankles‚ or varicose veins. Notably‚ horse chestnut extract might offer some relief from these symptoms by working to inhibit the activity of an enzyme called hyaluronidase that could otherwise break down proteoglycans; proteoglycans are molecules that support the connective tissue that keeps the walls of your veins strong.

Each bottle of Herb Pharm’s Horse Chestnut Extract contains one fluid ounce of solution‚ which is prepared with hand-harvested horse chestnut (aesculus hippocastanum) seeds.
